About Your Host
Hi, I’m Hannah. I fell in love with Lamu the moment I stepped off the boat in 2018 — and never looked back.
What began as fascination quickly became home: I immersed myself in the island’s Swahili history and culture, supported environmental activism across the county, married into the community, grew my family, and built Mbibo House as a place of refuge, connection, and care.
My hope is that you’ll feel truly at home here, and that your time at Mbibo helps you form your own connection to this extraordinary island.
Over the years I’ve curated what guests fondly call my “little Lamu book” — trusted guides, boat captains, therapists, excursions, and quiet gems — and I’m always happy to help tailor experiences to suit your needs
“This is an absolutely stunning house, felt incredibly tranquil, a sanctuary! Lawrence is a star and his food was so delicious. The pool area is beautiful. I would definitely book again.”
